Welcome to 2011!

As Deqlan has been saying " welcome to 2011" ! Not sure where he picked this up from but he did it with perfect timing!

We had a quiet New Years Eve at home and Deqlan , Dada, Logan and I stayed up to see the New Year into its first minutes! Deqlan and i caught the official countdown on Mnet and it was such a gift hearing him countdown and jumping on the bed with excitement! He now stands on the little table in the lounge and jumps off shouting ' WELCOME TO 2011!'

We look back at a year full of fantastic memories of Deqlans first official year at school - WOW - the GIANT leaps he has taken in 2010, leave us on our knees again in thanks and praise!

We are on our knees in thanks for Deqlans continued NED status- 16 January 2011 will mark 3 years cancer free!

We saw Logan grow up into a lovely young lady whose smiled has now filled in! We saw her come into her own, her personality beautifullly emerging like a caterpillar into a butterfly! Slow down!!

We watched Keaton's language explode into the most beautiful sentences - we watched im go to his new school and settle in so beautifully! We watched and delighted in him becoming a big brother- i will never forget his face as we carried the balloons in to see Khloe for the very first time

It was a year we welcomed precious Khloe into our family, and boy does her smile , just melt you, totally , every time.

We welcomed little Kaiden, the second boy in the family of brothers

We had many big birthdays , Megs 30th, Grandpa's 80 and Dee's 70th.

We welcomed our best friends home again, and then had to say goodbye to them, making the best decision they could for their kids health.

We celebrated in style as we welcome the world to the biggest event our country has ever seen, the Fifa World Cup and wow was it spectacular - we have so many amazing memories from this time, with all our family members, or friends, even perfect strangers from around the world, united with us in excitment and celebration.

We said goodbye to a good friend Tim, 1 week before his wedding

We said goodbye to Aunty Rene, and we remain shocked and sadened to our core , that God took her home , suddenly, only 3 short weeks ago

We watched many friends welcome new arrivals into their families

We learnt of many friends expecting miracles , so many arriving in the next few weeks

Megs and I , with tears of joy, where confirmed into the Catholic faith on Easter Saturday

We moved out our home of 2 years, we moved in with my loving and caring parents

We got to see Kevin and Louise , after a year and a half of living in New Zealand

We made many new and wonderful friends

We continued to learn more each day about Autism and try new things that brought improvements for our Deqlan

We said goodbye to many, many warriors who faught cancer

We learnt of many new warriors called to battle and many still in the thick of it

We celebrated with many who reached NED status and had stable / improved scans

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary

Deqlan is toilet trained, for the most part, what an achievement our beautiful boy

Deqlan threw his juice bottle away and we got him onto straws!

Deqlan continued reading, at a ravenous speed and revealed his amazing ability for languages, letters and numbers

Deqlans songs fill the air with the most beautiful sounds

We were blessed with 4 beautiful, extraordinary school reports, each better then the last!

We got to see Kejenne, my cousin , who was visiting from France, what a TREAT that was , what an uplifting spirit experience it always is!

We had to hug our closest family goodbye, as they prepare to depart for 4 years to , Germany in a few days

We were blessed with your continued love and support and prayers for our Deqlan and the dedication, commitment, love and help from every possible way from my amazing Mom and Dee, Deqlans Nanna and Grandpa

There are so many other memories from 2010 that bring both laughter and smiles and warm fuzzy feelings, and others that we learnt so much from, grew from, and are still trying to deal with and be positive from.

I pray that 2011 is a magnificent year for you all - blessed in every way! May Our Lord continue to guide you , strengthen you and love you ! May you treasure each moment with your loved ones, stop and take in all your blessings and not to sweat the small stuff! May your days be filled with peace and laughter and excellent health!
