pizza pizza!!!

Little Leaps having been teaching the kids about South Africa this term, as well as other countries around the world!

Today was Pizza day and they created their own pizza , and then served on a Italian flag paint which they each painted

Now of course, our precious Deqlan cant eat any old pizza, so this Mamma, had a bit of a Samms feast in the kitchen last night, preparing a gluten free pizza base !! Oh boy! Im not the best cook on most days, so imagine at 7 at night, when i am tired and trying to cook Deqlan dinner, us dinner, do the washing, cleaning up and to top it off, gluten free pizza base making for the very first time!!! Lets just say Mark came home to a grumpy cook

The base was easy to prepare but i couldnt put yeast or sugar to rise....but it thought it would be ok, like a thin base instead of thick base option! But , it stuck to EVERYTHING - even adding more gluten free flour did not pull this lump of dough off the rolling pin , the chopping board and even my shoes!

I eventually figured out, by leaving for a little while, it became a little harder and started staying where i put it!!!

So i made two little bases and send some tomatoe puree and some chicken with for Deqlan to sprinkle on his pizza instead of cheese and peparoni!!

I was delighted to see the end result! Even more delighted to taste how nice it was! Deqlan didnt each getting his hands dirty and ask his teach to ' I WANT CLEAN PLEASE, THANK YOU' shame..... i tried to get him to at least have a bite, but because its something he isnt familiar with he was not interested! He even loves to say pizza and is fascinated with our pizza boxes when we get pizza - but the real deal, nahhh
I also had a lovely start this morning, Deqlan has started waking up before 6am these days, and i love to jump back into bed with him and just hold him and chat and sing before we get up for the day. This morning i was treated to '5 green bottles on the wall" ! I was blown away that he sang the whole song, and after each bottle fell, he loved saying ' CRASH' and would put another one of my fingers down.
He also sang ' HELLO BIG FIVE' - I asked Ayeline about these this morning, and she was amazing that after hearing these songs only 1 or 2 times, Deqlans got it! She is also amazed that he may not sing them in class, but he definitely is taking it all in - he just chooses to sing them when he wants to!!
His tummy seems to be on the mend - no funny nappies again, but moments of frustration and unhappiness - we immediately jump in and say 'I WANT' to get Deqlan to tell us what he wants - this method works so very well !!! and after every request we get a please and thank you and the hand signs for them to, bless him, he is so adorable!
God Bless, lots of love
Mark Samm Deqlan Logan
