what up

Deqlan looked like a real gangsta in his outfit, he put the hat on like this himself!

Deqie continues to cuddle by Grandpa every change he gets, Grandpa even got him to sleep yesterday afternoon!

Deqlan just adores baby Khloe!

Logs, Dada and Deqlan
As expected Deqlan continues to be thrilled to be back at school ! The theme for the next two weeks is food - he even sang the "Hello fruit' song to us last night.
We have started toilet training again this term and believe Deqlan is now ready for it !
Ayline has giving Deqlan such a great technique to cope with mess - if his coldrink spells or any other liquid is messed , she will give Deqlan a cloth and he now says ' BYE BYE MESS' . In the past he used to just cry and get VERY upset with any mess. If anything messes at home he will immediately tell us ' BYE BYE MESS' and we will give him a cloth to clean it up and once he has made sure its gone and clean and dry he is happy again!
Today's menu of activities at school, included some computer lessons and a counting game - instead of counting each dot on the ladybug, Deqlan can immediately see the number of dots and will say the number straight away. I have seen him do this with a number of things.
Another massive mile stone was that Deqlan read us a book about colours from the first to the last word!!! We were over joyed . It isnt just words that he has memorised , cause it was a new book with words he hadnt seen before - HE IS READING!!
Deqlan is also a lot more tolerant of kids around him and touching his stuff - instead of immediately crying he will call Ayline and she is trying to teach him to say no to the specific person that may be interupting what he is doing.
Deqlans daily 'job' is to put the kids to sleep at school before we fetch him in the afternoon. This excercise comes complete with ' WE HAVE A SNOOZE. GOOD NIGHT SLEEP TIGHT SWEET DREAMS' and if you lucky, a hug and kiss thrown in to!
We are so very very blessed at the progress he is making each day, Thank You Lord
Got to run Mr Deqlan waking up from his nap, still coughing shame
God Bless, all our love

Deqlan the pool guy

Chris and Kristen enjoying the water

This is a major milestone for Deqlan - its the first time he has EVER kept a hat on!!! His head was very sensitive in the past, but he is so tolerant of so many things that worried him before, they just dont seem to worry him anymore! He doesnt even cry when we wash his hair anymore! So something we are doing is helping with this very sensitive area!

Isnt he gorgeous?? He couldnt be happier its summer and we can be in the water!!!

Khloe and her Oumie

Deqlan is besotted with Khloe, he adores he, and i kind of like to think she loves Deqlan just as much. He is so gentle with her, always wanting to touch her little face, and hug her and kiss her and even speak baby to her, to precious for words! I always knew in my heart these two are going to be best of friends just as Keaton and Logan are

Gorgeous Khloe and Meggie

So proud to be Khloe Godparents, thank you Conrad and Megs for this honor

Our precious Deqlan was amazing during the service - he wasnt upset for 1 single second, see below to see why...

I will never forget this moment and the look on Khloes face, what an honor to hold you
Khoe as the waters ran over your head!

being blessed with the oil of chrism

Nan was delighted to be in our parish - they normally come to her and Grandpa every two weeks for communion and mass, but she was so touched to actually be back in church again!
The beautiful Khloe Rose and Meggie - she had the most precious ballet shoes on decorated in roses and diamante!

Some stunning photos that Lisa took of Khloes special day
I love this pic of me holding Khloe's candle with her in the background , a promise to lead her and teach her all about our amazing Lord as best as we can
Now this is why Deqlan was so good! He sat on Grandpa's lap eating his biscuits, with his feet up on the pew. The most beautiful part was watching Deqlan singing Jesus Loves me, thank You Lord for this beautiful beautiful unforgetable gift and thank you Grandpa for loving Deqlan SOOOOOOO much!

Khloe , you are breathtakingly beautiful

Conragtulations beautiful Khloe, Congratulations Conrad, Megs and Keaton, it was a beautiful day! We promise to be the best role models we can be for your precious little girl, we love and adore her !
I LOVE YOU KHLOE STAY AS GORGEOUS AS YOU ARE !
ALL OUR LOVE

What is Autism?

Wanted to share these words with you from 5 minutes from the Autism Speak Blog with you. Some are so close to home, some brought lots of smiles to my face:

This “In Their Own Words,” is written by Megan Winkler-Schmitt, who was inspired to write after her best friend’s son was diagnosed with autism.

I was thinking today, as I dried my hair, about what this mysterious thing called autism really is. I started making of list of what it is, based on what I’ve seen only, and I ran into the other room to write it down. I’d like to share it with you.

Please note that this is what autism looks like to me. These are the experiences I’ve had with it, and it differs from your own. I do not have a child with autism, but a little one very special to me and very dear to my heart struggles with it. I have learned so much from this little angel who is undeniably special and infinitely precious, and I see autism as something very real now. Let’s just say that for me, myths have been thrown out the window, and when you know someone with autism, you realize that what you thought you knew isn’t correct at all.

I don’t know why this jumped into my head. I wasn’t reading anything on it online. I wasn’t talking about it. I didn’t see a news program on it. But, sometimes, inspiration hits and you just have to listen. So, here are my thoughts. Please, please, share your thoughts with me, too.
(And yes, I realize that it came out in very loose poetic form; it’s just how it works sometimes.)

Autism is joy in little things.
It is pain and heartache.
It is the pleasure of bubbles;
the consistency of golden toast.
It is running through sprinklers,
because it just feels so good.
It is frustrated little grunts,
communication in screams,
a mommy who just wants to hear,
“I love you,” but even “Mommy” would be nice.

Banging your head against the wall,
it is the sleep of a sleepless night.
It is pleading and begging, bargaining and weeping.
It is a mother and father clinging to one another, and faith.
It is the crunch of a leaf,it is the wind in your hair.

It is the simple joy of repetition,
the comfort of a pattern,
the security of routine.

It is unexpected moments,
of open-mouthed kisses:those little things others take for granted.
It is loving a fluffy dog with your cheek,
and crossing your eyes,
just because the world looks curiously different that way.

It is inventing your own language
that only the fairies and Mommy speak.

It is struggle; it is strife.
It is imperfection, but, then again,so is everything,in life.

It is tears and fears,
but it is simplicity and innocence.
It is not taking for granted,
it is cherishing, hoping, running up a down escalator.

And if life is perfect, just the way it is:
faults and imperfections,second-guesses and small joys,
then what is autism but life, lived in its own way?

SEE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!
