I love logos!

man , oh man , does deqie love his logos- he always has but this past month has been kicked up into another gear!

he loves car logos in every shape or form - on his ipad, magazines, searching the internet, watching youtube clips of kids speaking about car logos, looking at cupcakes with car logos on them and even asking us to draw the logos on his ipad or with bath foam on his tummy! he knows hundreds of them in an instant- even those cars we have never heard of before "koenisegg" and others from india and the eastern block countries- he just cant get enough of them- he constantly tells us who has what car " dada and nanna has a bmw" " mamma has a vw" " meggie has a chrysler" "big grandpa has a mazda" "conrad has a toyaota" he even remembers that granny had a honda, bless him

the other category includes logos of shops+restaurants especially and dstv tv channels of course!

the amazing ayline came up with the idea to create a logo file for deqlan, which he absolutely loves! if he completes his work for the day and doesnt bite his nails etc he gets access to all the logos in the file to enjoy and talk about - this little reward system has really brought him out his shell in many ways- even singing with his class mates and doing the actions to - which before was to overwhelming for him

we have some new logos in the file ready to go for family day tomorow in the hope that his reward will get him singing with his class mates as he does when they practise :) i am beyond excited for family day on friday and get all emotional just thinking about it- check back soon for photos and details of the big day!

Setting the scene

I know, i know, i have been VERY bad in posting updates and adventures, and i do apologise - the last few weeks have run away with me again , from feeling terrible from a virus last week, to packing boxes, to organising farewell parties, to typing correspondence to Deqlans new school, to having people come look at our place to rent it out......im sure ive set the scene for you

But the real scene setter is the new pics and backround, geting my mind around our new province, our new views, our new adventures

Dada found us a place in an area called Kloof , which is close to Deqlan's school he will be assessed at. Although we cant see the sea from there, Dada sure will be able to from his work, in Umhlanga which is about 30 minutes away...we decided he would do the travelling and we would be closer to school, to start off with anyway- apparently Kloof is also not as humid and a few degree's colder. Hopefully the snakes wont like that and will not be making any appearances in our area! EVER!!!

So the big move will happen last week of March, Deqlan and I may stay by Nanna for a few days ( :) :) :) :) ) While Dada goes down to meet the truck drop his car, fly back and drive my car and us to our new residence - i couldnt drive 6 hours by myself with Deqie in the back by himself

We will have a farewell party at Little Leaps on the 29th of March, i want to cry just thinking about it - but have some extra special surprises planned - "all the things Deqlan loves" will be the theme, including car logo cupcakes and letterland party boxes :) I dont know how i am going to close that gate for the last time and say goodbye knowing we will not be back in the new term BUT we sure will be making MANY visits to good ol Gauteng and they will always include a visit to Ayline, Ash, Cans , Florie , Carol and the rest of the Little Leapers, I promise!

In two weeks time is family day at Little Leaps, the theme is " a crazy little things called loved" We have had the absolute honour and joy of Deqlan singing the songs and doing the actions for us at home - i am incredibly proud and blown away at how beautifully Deqlan sings the songs " where is the love" Black eye peas " all you need is love" the Beatles :) " Love was made for me and you" Frank Sinatra , complete with actions for each letter - I CANT WAIT FOR THIS AMAZING DAY TO ARRIVE - Deqlan doesnt like singing with the group and the noise and hustle and bustle, like last years concert he surprised as all by doing a solo! But Ayline says that he has been practising and singing with the group , so lets see how he feels on the day - either way, wow we love watching and listening to him practise and im thrilled to have recorded him singing on my blackberry!

Busy weekend ahead: tonight is Phantom of the Opera with Mom and Megs and Dee as our driver :) Tomorow morning family photo shoot, our Christmas present from Megs and Conrad and Kids, Kristens party tommorow afternoon, a Mass in honour of Nan,in the evening, who will be gone for 6 months tomorow - Sunday , you guessed it packing up!

happy memories day

today marks 58 years since my grandparents said "i do". we celebrating it physically with grandpa and in our hearts and memories with nan.

we spent some of the morning with grandpa looking at photos and talking about their wedding day, nans bouquet, the bridesmaids colours and even grandpa going to see nan on the day they got married

we went ten pin bowling as nan and grandpa used to love doing that together and then we went for a cup of tea and pancakes for nan

what sterling examples they are of unconditional love and we will forever celebrate today as happy memories day as mom has "coined" today to be :)

Durban, by the sea

hello everyone!

wanted to share some new and exciting news with you!

we are moving to durban! yes, by the sea!

mark will be taking over his works durban branch, and we will move us a family by the end of march

we have found a school in pinetown that caters for kids with special needs, including autism. deqlan will go for a 2 week assesment in april to see if its the right school for him!

i cant imagine not being at little leaps and not having ayline as deqies teacher

never mind not seeing my mom and dee, gpa, megs con keatie+khloe, as often as i like for as long as i like! we have already planned our first three visits to each other , so i know i can already look forward to those dates! i have the most amazing supportive family and we will get through the tought days together even if we not physically together we always are in our hearts! thank heavens for skype, blackberry and facebook! and thank you lord its not another country, just 6 hours away

we trust that god is leading us as he aways does, on this new adventure to the sea, a great new challenge and oppurtunity for mark and perhaps the launch of deqlans surfing career and my dream job working with the dolphins at ushaka marine world?

will keep you posted on all the plans!
